The other day I was watching House M.D. on USA. In the episode House got shot and was rushed to the emergency room. When he woke up from surgery he started having hallucinations. He was on another patient case, and he continued working on it. His colleagues never questioned his judgment and never argued with him although they knew he was having hallucinations and memory problems. When he talked in riddles his colleagues immediately understood what he was talking about. In the end, the whole episode was a dream/hallucination even though it seemed so real. It was so realistic that House was working on a case and going about his normal job of irritating Cuddy and Wilson. When he woke up he was still on the way to the emergency room.
For hours afterward I thought about that episode. It made me think about how life is like a dream. We don't stay here forever, and so we don't need to store up material things and worry about the trivial things. One day we are going to wake up, and for me, I know I am going to be in heaven, a much better place than I can even dream about now.

College Traffic
I was walking to class a couple of days ago, and I felt like I was driving. I walked on the right side of the road, behind someone slow, and as I got closer I moved to the left "lane" sped up a little bit and moved back into the right "lane." Sometimes, I pass on the shoulder, but hey, what are you supposed to do during "5 o'clock" traffic? And I don't think it's illegal on a college campus. :)

Schedules, Exams, and Work, Oh My!!
Hey Ya'll!!!
Today I registered for Spring Classes. I got the classes I wanted, but not at the times I wanted...
MWF
8-9am MATH - Statistics
9-10am COMM - Webpage Design
TTh
8-9:30am ENGL - Freshman Comp 2
9:30-11am PE - Lifetime Wellness
MW
3:30-5pm BIOL - 101
M
10-11am CUW
T
1-3pm BIOL - 101 Lab
So exams are coming up!!! I can't believe that this semester is almost over. I feel like I just got here! I guess that's good thing though because that means I am having a good time. I am really excited about Christmas break because it's going to be pretty long. :) I don't know what I am going to do with all that time, but I am going to try to take a road trip for a few days.
Today I worked from 3-10. I ran 1 of the 3 cameras at the first soccer game and then I ran the switcher for the second game. I really enjoy my job; I couldn't have been luckier. I love using computers, cameras, switchers, and learning how to use other Audio/Visual equipment. My bosses are awesome; they are encouraging and lots of fun.
I am going home for Thanksgiving, and I am really excited about it. I haven't been home for 5 weeks! Tomorrow a few of my friends are coming to visit me, and I am so happy. I haven't had any visitors yet.

Me............AGAIN
So, yeah, I have been trying to get Donna Lynn to post, that's why I haven't posted in so long. I thought it would be nice to see a post from her before I posted again. But oh well.
Today we just realized that we have 12 more days of school before exams!!! We are very excited! It's hard to believe that our first semester of school is almost over. Next week freshmen get to register for classes, so we'll see what happens. It looks like a few of the classes I wanted are already full. :(
Last weekend, Adam and Donna Lynn stayed with me. We went to see Pippin together, which was a really fun musical. We also went to the homecoming parade and the football game. Then I had to leave after the first quarter to go work. This weekend I won't have to work, because there is nothing going on, so other than homework, I will be relaxing, which is going to be really nice. I usually stay up late doing homework on Fridays and then I don't get to sleep in because I go to work on Saturdays, but as far as I know, we don't have any games this weekend.
The football team is still getting crushed, but I am proud of the team sticking to their guns and trying their hardest. We did actually win one game this year!!! It was an away game though, so we didn't get to watch them. :(
Classes are still going...and going...and going... I am so ready for Christmas break! A couple of my classes might change the exam date, so I won't have to stay over the extra weekend. :) Yay!! That would make my year!

*sheepish smile*
I know, I know....
Okay, so here's what's been going on.
This past weekend, my best friend from Hungary came to visit me!!! She is attending Sewanee: University of the South in Tennessee, and last weekend was her Fall break. Because God is so good, she was able to come visit me for 4 days! :D We had a blast! We stayed up late talking about life, watched movies, laughed, had a Hungarian meal, and didn't do homework. So all in all, it was an amazing weekend!
There hasn't been anything else too exciting or awesome to write about. Buies Creek is Buies Creek.... that pretty much sums it up.
I was looking at Google Earth and searched "Buies Creek, NC." The exact center of Buies Creek (at least where Google Earth put the 'dot' on the map) is the center of campus. Which confirms my suspicions about Buies Creek, in that Campbell University IS Buies Creek and they gave CU its own name and ZIP code to fool you into thinking it was actually a town.
My English class was cancelled! Yay! Tonight I went to CRU for real for the first time ever. It was an eye opener. We split into groups to learn about different countries and how they are persecuted for being Christians and what Christians have to go through to worship God in their different countries. I learned about Iraq and how only 1.5% of the 23 million people there are Christians and 97% are Muslim.
I am excited that the week is halfway over! It seems like it takes forever for the week to go by and get to the next weekend, but then at the same time it goes by so fast! I am amazed that the semester is already halfway over. We are going to be registering for classes for the Spring next week!
God bless!

Gansta'
Wuz up yo? I been down to the Wally World 'n' I saw... Okay, I can't talk gangsta', but I tried. 10 minutes down the street in Dunn we have a gangsta' Dollar Tree. In other words, the "r" doesn't light up any more, so it's a "dolla' tree"
Anyway, Fall Break was awesome. I cleaned a lot, but it will be a blessing to my mother.
Thursday I got to see one of my brothers' football games. It was a lot of fun and they did a great job, although it was rainy and blah weather to watch a football game in.
Friday I cleaned out the vacuum cleaner and thoroughly cleaned the den. I went to see my brother's girlfriend in the play, The Diviner. Meredith did an awesome job.
Saturday I cleaned some more, did some home work and then went to the theater with my brother and our friend. We saw Eagle Eye. It was really good. I suggest it to everyone. After I got home at 10, I watched What Happens in Vegas with my dad and then Just My Luck on my own.
Sunday I went to church and then got lunch with M&M and then went home and just hung out until I had to leave to go back to college.
All in all it was a good break, and I did get to relax, contrary to the evidence.

Brand New Week...
Hello everyone, long time, no post... I guess that's my fault isn't it? Oh well, Hakuna Matata... Anyway, so I had an amazing weekend and Fall Break!
Wednesday:
I went home with Adam, then went and had supper with Reid and his folks at Zaxby's, and it was awesome. I also met Ryan's new girlfriend, Asuka (sp?), which was pretty cool. It was really unfair though that ECU has fall break like now, and I just hated leaving him in Greenville :(
Thursday:
I went with my cousin to take my grandma's van to the shop, then I had to pick corn for the rest of the afternoon, then did homework that night. Thursday was not the most exciting day ever, however...
Friday:
OMG! Reid and Ryan were in an accident!!!!!! but it's okay, they're both fine except that Ryan is still sore. The car was towed, but I would rather it be the car than them. I also went with my dad to look at tractor trailers, then Friday night me and Reid went to the cookout where we got an amazing banana pudding milkshake, then watched TMNT, the original at his house. (By the way, your movie is still at my house, :) ) Friday was great and all, but then...
Saturday: (this is where the fun really began)
That morning, me, mama, and Danielle went to Greenville, got my oil changed, and I got a new cell phone. We came home, and I took mama's car to Tarboro to get washed. Why, you ask? Well, WE WENT TO SEE SUGARLAND SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!! First we at supper at Logan's in Roanoke Rapids, then went to Carolina Crossroads. If you've never been to crossroads, all it is is a field with a stage. Anyway, we had front row seats to see Ashton Sheppard, Kellie Pickler, and Sugarland, and let me tell you, it was amazing!!!! I was like 20 feet away from them, and it was so awesome. I don't think that it gets any better than that! I had a great time, except for the drunk folks falling all over the place, okay, so not falling, but still... it was great; the best concert, ever!
Sunday:
Did some homework, had lunch with Reid's family cause it was his grandparent's 54th Anniversary (awwwww). Then we moved junk out of the barn; not so great, but I was wearing my new Sugarland T-shirt :) Later, I came back to school :( I really miss home
Anyway, I hope that everyone has a fabulous week!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy.....
Hey ya'll!
I know it's been a while, but we have just been so busy. This past week I have had Bible Studies, papers, lots and lots of homework and I was trying to be social.
I started going to a Bible Study on Monday nights with my "big sister" called "A Call To Die" and I am really excited about it. There are about 10 people there, so it wasn't too big, but it also wasn't too small that we never got around to what we were supposed to be doing in the first place.
I have been trying to go to CRU, but it just hasn't been all that excited not being able to go to the whole thing. Because of my English class, I can only go to the last 20 minutes. I am going to keep note of it for next semester and I am not going to take a Wednesday night class. Hopefully I won't have to take any night classes, but we'll see.
Yesterday I turned in 2 papers and 6 paragraphs for English and I feel really good about them. I am not too excited about my next paper that I have to do though. I just feel so overwhelmed with stuff I have to do this week, that slapping a paper on top of all that almost pushes me over the edge.
I have a math test tomorrow, that he just told us about yesterday. A religion test on Monday and all my lab assignments (20) for Intro to Computers are due by 6 on Tuesday. Plus I have a lot of reading to do. I can't wait for fall break.
This past weekend Donna Lynn and I adopted a new pet: Mickey. It took us a little while to decide if we would actually name him, but we did. We were trying to decide if he would count as a loophole in the 'No pets except fish" rule. He visits us every once in a while, only at night though. He is very cute and he lives in the bathroom. He's also a little shy, but what do you expect from a mouse!?
I am also very excited about the weekend following fall break. Eszti, my best friend from Hungary is going to be visiting me for the weekend. She is attending Sewanee University in Tennessee and so she is going to be visiting me during her fall break from the 16th to the 19th. We are going to try to go to the Cheesecake Factory in Raleigh and Sunny Ski's. Sunny Ski's is supposed to be a really good ice cream place, but Adam, Donna Lynn and I haven't gone yet. Going with Eszti gives us an excuse if we haven't gone by the time she gets here.
Well, I need to go work. I am manning a camera for the soccer games that we are streaming live from 5-9 today. I am hoping that I will have fun!

Long Time No Post
Hey all! I know it's been awhile since I last posted, so you can thank Donna Lynn for keeping you up to date.
My weekend was pretty awesome because my parents came on Saturday for Parents Day and that was a lot of fun. We got to watch a Campbell football game, (We lost 7-34, but hey, they haven't played in 58 years!), we ate dinner at Shouse Dining Hall and we watched parts of some movies on television in the lobby. (My dad fell asleep...) I decided last minute to go home for the rest of the weekend for a few reasons: I wanted to go to Sam's Club and get my long awaited iPod, I wanted to go to church and see some of my friends, and it's just plain boring here on the weekends when your friends aren't here. So my weekend was pretty awesome.
I have been doing well this week, but I haven't been going to sleep when I should. I didn't have anything I NEEDED to do last night and I didn't go to sleep until 1:30 anyways. It's okay though, I didn't get up until 9:30 this morning, so I got about 8 hours of sleep. :/
Yesterday I had to get up 2 hours earlier than I usually do on Wednesdays because I had to go to the Alumni Convocation at 10am. It was required for our business class, but it also means we don't have class at 10am on Friday!!! WOOT!! So at least I will be able to sleep in tomorrow.
-Julia
p.s. Chuck Norris doesn't sleep...he waits.

Ellipsis and Chuck Norris...
Hello everyone...
It's Wednesday, yet again. Which is a good thing, in my opinion. My busy days this week have passed *giving myself a mental high-5*. I'm just really tired, because you see, it's almost 1:00 in the morning, and i should be asleep... 'specially when I have a 9:30 in the morning, but oh well.
For tonight's (this morning's...) post, I have decided that I will examine my love of the ellipse.
I love an ellipse. Why? I have no clue. I don't know if it's because it makes me seem smarter... no, that's not it. Maybe it's because it makes me feel like I have more to say, but I'm leaving it up to the audience to figure out what it is, like a mysterious kind of thing... see? I'm leaving it up to the reader(s) to decipher what I really mean. So it's like a James Bond thing, yet not half as cool. But hey, whatever, I'll take all the cool I can get... (see? more ellipses)
Anyway, I thought that was going to be more complex than it really was. I think though that my brain has given up on me, and that's all I came up with. Oh well, who am I to fight my brain? Wait, hang on... nevermind.
By the way: If Chuck Norris got in a fight with himself, he would win.
Disclaimer: I am in NO way comparing myself to Chuck Norris!
I've had enough...

Terrible Tuesdays...
Okay, so, today wasn't that bad, I just really like alliteration. Anyway, um, not much has happened here lately, and I'm really tired, but I felt like I should check in. Just so everyone knows, I am still alive and stuff...
I hope that Wednesday is better, and I can't wait for Friday!

A Weekend of Tremendous Proportions…
In case nobody has realized, I had an amazing weekend. On Friday I came home and saw some family and went to eat with my cousin for her birthday, then came back home and just hung around. On Saturday, I wanted to sleep in, but alas, I could not… anyway, I ran errands for my mom, and hung out at my grandma’s because she had a family get-together, then went to Greenville with Reid, and spent time with him, then spent time with my little cousins that spent the night with me ( too many “spents”??). On Sunday, I went to Tarboro and watched Trash being made, lol, it’s like chex mix and stuff, which is totally awesome. Afterwards, I came back home, and we took my dad out for his birthday tomorrow, which leads me to where I am now.
I am staying at home tonight (Sunday night), because I don’t have class until 10 tomorrow and I wanted to go out to eat with my family to give my dad his front row Sugarland tickets!!!! I am also totally excited to be going to the Sugarland concert on October 11, and I am even more proud to announce that I will be sitting on the front row. I’ll be sure to take a lot of pictures, rest assure…
But I digress. So I am going to bed early tonight, probably the only night this week, but whatever. It’s 11:00, and I’m actually kinda tired. I hope tomorrow is not going to be too hectic... all I can do is pray.
Have a great Monday, ‘cause if you don’t, it’s going to suck… a bit redundant, I think...

Me, Myself and I don't know.
Time flies, when Chuck Norris tells it to. Man, I wish I had that power, except it would be the exact opposite. I feel like I am going, going, going but I don't know where the time goes.
Today I went to lunch with my Big Sister from CRU at Quiznos. I had a really good time and got to know her pretty well. At some point we are going to get together and make crepes. (It's a long and random story). We hung out for about an hour or so and just talked. I am really excited. She is really nice and I think we clicked really well.
Today I also went to the Physical Plant to get my schedule and I started working. I learned about a few of the different sound and video systems and then burned some DVDs. From 6-8 I handled a live feed video class. I set up the cameras and then sat there to make sure it didn't freeze up or shut down and then turned everything off at the end. It was pretty simple. It sounds like a lot of the jobs I might be doing I will be able to do homework after I get everything set up and started. I think I will really enjoy this job, it's something I have always wanted to try out and I am getting paid to do it!
I am going to try and attend a Home Fellowship Group with Grace Community Church. I might also babysit for one depending on what my schedule looks like. I have so many things that I want to do. I want to go to 2 HFGs, attend an all-girls Bible Study and a coed Bible Study, hold a job and keep up with school. I would also like to have some sort of a social life. But you know what they say:
Welcome to college! Pick 2:
1. Social Life
2. Sleep
3. Good grades
I feel like I have so much to do, but I don't know what I'm doing. Hopefully I'll have it figured out by the end of the Semester! :)

College is a Rollar Coaster...
Definitions all around...
College (n): 1. a really aggravating place, 2. an emotional roller coaster, 3. something invented to throw off your internal clock, 4. a place to meet really cool people, 5. where you learn to play Frogger on Main St., Leslie Campbell Av., and Hwy 421.
(Okay, so maybe the last one only applies to Campbell, but whatever, our blog, our rules...)
First of all, I'm soooo sorry that I haven't blogged since like last week, but this week has been so crazy, I have barely had time to breathe. So, since last Thursday, I have taken a Biology exam, submitted an English paper, taken a Theatre exam, and taken a Chemistry exam. I have also counted trees in the woods across from school for Bio Lab, cleaned my room, done laundry, decorated a martini glass, gone to bible study, hung out, played cards with some strange folks, and gone to Chemistry lab and review. I would also like to mention that I have pretty much spent all of my free time studying. Me and Adam even got kicked out of the Library, not for talking too loud, not for horse-playing, but because they were getting ready to close, TWICE! There is no excuse for this!!!! I DON'T DO LIBRARY!
Anyway, I also forgot to mention that I didn't go home last weekend, and I think that everybody should be really proud of me for that. However, I am going home this weekend! (& I'm so excited!) Last weekend I went to Wilmington to visit Amanda, who goes to UNC-W. We had supper, went to the beach, and went downtown Saturday morning before I came back to Campbell. I had a good time...
I feel like I owe the readers a little more, now that we have readers. Well, I'd just like to say that I'm really glad that we are entertaining enough for people to read our blog... YEAH FOR US!
I would also like to mention that I am totally exhausted, and that I am looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday more than like anything else on the whole entire planet. I now officially understand why college kids like sleep so much, and I will mock them no more; I am one of them.
That's about all I can get out. My contacts are starting to stick. Contacts sticking= nighty-night time.
Have a great weekend!

Where has the time gone?
I feel like I just got here and already I am taking tests and writing papers. I started on Monday with an Introduction to Christianity test, continued today with a math test and tomorrow I will follow it up with an Introduction to Computers test. AAAAAUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!
This week is alcohol awareness week and this evening I went to a little program where we learned about how to take care of an intoxicated friend and know when to call 911. I missed most of it because I had a class until 9pm, but I got a little of it. Then I decorated a plastic martini glass and ate snacks. It was a lot of fun.
Tomorrow I am going to finish my work study contract and get my schedule set up. I am working for the audio and visual department. I am excited about it, except for the fact that I won't be able to go home on the weekend as often.
I need to go to bed.

Baby Mama!
This weekend I am staying here at Campbell for the first time this semester. Donna Lynn went to visit her friend in Wilmington, so for tonight at least, I am alone. Adam is also gone, but he went home. I think he went to watch one of his highschool's football games.
Every Friday they show a movie in Turner Auditorium, and tonight, since Adam and Donna Lynn are gone, Ben and I went and watched Baby Mama. It was hilarious. I recommend it to everyone over the age of 14.
This weekend is going to be a fun adventure. I have no idea what I am doing, but I am bound run into someone who does.

Blackout!
Today during math class a student asked the teacher if he could turn the lights off so that the class could see the projection better. Professor Kiu doesn't really know which switches are which lights, so he ended up switching some switches and after a few tries, every light in the room turned off. He came and stood in front of the class and declared. "And now there is a problem, because I was just pushing buttons and I don't know which button I pushed." So some students just said, "We'll worry about it later!" The professor agreed because he wanted to get on with the class, and he ended up teaching the whole class in the dark.
It was a pain because I couldn't take notes or doodle or anything. I am pretty sure that several people fell asleep, I know my neighbor did.
At least we could see the board!

PETITION AGAINST TESTS!
I want to formally begin a petition against tests and them being given in schools of any kind. I think that tests are a cruel way to force people to do things they don't want to do (i.e. studying, homework...). I am a college student, and as a college student, I have already, in the first 3 weeks that I have been here, studied countless hours for exams, worked on a paper, read, written journals and essays, and worked chemistry problems. and all for what? an EXAM!!!!!! I for one think that they are evil things that rob the world of it's creativity and individuality, and confine students to fit in little boxes of conformity. Tests limit a student's ability to express themselves and their ideas about a subject, and just because a student thinks differently than a teacher, they are automatically wrong, even though the question said, "What do YOU think the author meant..." That's an opinion question, HOW CAN IT BE WRONG????!!!!????? Teachers and other people of authority use these "tests" to filter through who could make it, and who can't. Ever notice that a test ( the SAT) helps decide whether you get into college? Or how about a test deciding whether or not you can pass a course (EOC's)? Filters, harsh, unfeeling filters that make some feel like dropping out of school is all that they are.
In conclusion, I think that tests are the spawn of satan.
The end.
Have a great day tomorrow! :)

Thirsty Thursday... HAHA, just kiddin'
So, I know that yesterday's post was supposed to be short, but I assure you, tonight will be shorter. I just had a lot of work to do today, and my tongue still hurts. That's about it, oh yea, and I did my first load of laundry at Campbell... yea, that's all.
p.s.- don't wash regular clothes with towels, you get a very unwelcome fuzz on your clothing... live and learn, then get luvs...

OMG(osh)!!!!!!
So I will have to agree with Donna Lynn here that today was insane! I had classes and homework non-stop! It was ridiculous.
Donna Lynn goes to bed before I do, 10-11:30ish, and so I usually wait for her to go to bed and then I will go to bed. So basically she sets the bedtime. Last night we were up until 1am!! I couldn't believe that Donna Lynn stayed up that late so I was thinking that tonight was going to be an early night since Donna Lynn has a 9:30 class in the morning. But as you can see, I am still up and it's already tomorrow!
I thought homework was supposed to make time drag on forever, but not in college! I was working on two projects for my computer class and within "10 minutes" it went from 9:30-10:15-11:56.
:-0
I can't believe I am still up! "This is ridiculous! ...........Donna Lynn Go To Bed!!!!!" She still won't listen to me...
Good night!

Let's just say, I did not have a happy Hump-Day...
Okay, so, wow. Today was absolutely insane. I was in class and labs and stuff for so long today, I had to eat supper alone, and I have a load of homework to do. Not to mention that I am way tired, which is why this is going to be a short post.
So, in this post, I just want to pose something, though I'm not sure what it is. Let's think about it as "food for thought"... While in English, my professor was talking about how we all as individuals bring different opinions, thoughts, and experiences to our writing, and that she doesn't want us all to fit into a "box", well, let's assume this is a writing box, because I'm not exactly sure what she meant by "box", but that's a "rabbit trail"... Anyway, I started thinking about how we do all bring different lives, situations, encounters, emotions, and stories into everything that we do. We are all so different, and still blend and mesh together so well as a whole. We bring everything to the table; it's all so unique and yet it comes together to be this woven tapestry of life... I eventually came to a conclusion: The world is beautiful; we are beautiful...

I fell out of a castle today...
Hola, so, let me tell you... I fell out of a castle today. well, let's back up first, the castle can come later. this past weekend was labor day, and was absolutely amazing. I went to Nags Head with my boyfriend Reid and his family, and had a great time at the picnic. On Sunday morning we went to the beach, and while we were there, We encountered, wait for it........................ BRAD PAISLEY!!!! I understand and accept the fact that nobody would normally believe me, but in this case, I have no doubts, and I don't really care, cause I saw Brad Paisley run down the beach, and not once, but twice... :) Anyway, that's a post in itself. So, we came back Sunday afternoon, and I hung around home and visited a lot of my family on Monday.
So now today is Tuesday, and I want to formally wish a certain person happy birthday, so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIA!!!! Now, for today's story, yea, the falling out of the castle thing. Today, me and Adam went to work in the scene shop for our introduction to theatre class, and for one of the plays there is a "castle tower" made of a platform that is even with my shoulder, covered by styrofoam, and carved in the shape of a castle. well, I had to climb onto the platform to do some work, and when I got down, my leg wouldn't reach from the platform to the chair, and the chair fell over when I landed on it, so essentially, I landed on the floor, on the chair, on my knees... and now they hurt. Don't laugh, it's not funny...yet. Give me a year, then maybe it will be funny, hopefully.
Oh, another exciting thing to happen today: we had a fire drill at about 8:30 in the dorm, and Julia was in the shower :( The good news is that we totally got out in 1 minute and 35 seconds, when our goal was 1 minute 30 seconds, and we were the fastest dorm. ALRIGHT JONES LADIES, WAY TO GO!!!!!!
One other piece of useless info before I go... I painted my nails tonight. I never, NEVER paint my nails, I don't know what's wrong with me... must be something in the water...
Have a happy Hump-Day!!!

Labor Day!!
This is an exciting year to come to Campbell: football for the first time in over 50 years, a new convocation center, some refurbished dorm rooms, and for the first time ever in history Campbell is having Labor day off!!!
So this weekend I am home to have a nice long weekend and celebrate my birthday. Yesterday I went to see a movie: The Rocker, with some friends and hung out afterward. It was a very funny movie and I had a lot of fun. Went to church today and attended the college class for the very first time! I can't believe that I am actually in the college class. It's a little weird.
I feel like time goes so slowly, and then all of the sudden a the whole week has gone by and then.... I'm 4 years older than I used to be. I know "tomorrow" I am going to turn around after the graduation ceremony and say, "I was just a freshman yesterday!"
I want to grow up, or do something or get something over with, and then so much time flies by. I have to keep telling myself that I need to enjoy what God has given me right now. Stop waiting for the future to happen, because it is coming a lot faster than you think!

T.G.I.F... well, in 39 minutes anyway...
Hey, I just want to say that I am totally psyched that today is Thursday, and that Friday is in 39, well, 38 minutes now. I just don't think that I can fully express to you how totally awesome I think that is *sigh*... anyway, I'm looking forward to an awesome weekend, partly because this is Labor Day weekend, and I'm totally hoping for a trip to the beach, and partly because after this weekend, the next weekend is the last weekend before the first round of exams. According to like, everybody here, the first 3 weeks and first exams prove who sinks and who floats. So, living it up this weekend, studying hard next weekend. While I'm thinking about tests and stuff, I have to give one small piece of advice. Whatever you do, do not, I repeat, DO NOT spend too much time on facebook! I'm not going to repeat this, but if you have ever gotten a facebook account, you know what I mean. IT'S ADDICTING!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
This message will self-destruct in 10,9,8...
just kidding!
Have a great weekend!

No title... sry, couldn't be clever tonight!
What a day... what a day... so, apart from having class so sporadically all throughout the day, and the torrential rains that have been flooding Buies Creek all day, today has been kinda hectic, but good news! Tomorrow will be worse! no, just kidding, the real good news: it's supposed to rain every day until Monday; yea, like that's good news... Anyway, so I went to Campus Crusades for Christ ( from now on referred to as CRU, just FYI...) tonight with a couple of my friends, and had a wonderful experience. We sang praise and worship songs, played games, met people, signed up for big brother/big sister, and learned about the CRU ministries. I had a great time, and really enjoyed it, but it got me thinking, as do most things, unfortunately, but that's another story... I got to thinking about how amazing it is for teens, and people in their early 20's to be so on fire for Christ, especially when they're in such a stressful time, where they're trying to figure out who they are, what they want out of life, and having to deal with peer pressure to do all sorts of things. Granted that even though I am a born-again Christian, I am not the most religious person to ever walk this earth, but regardless, I am absolutely amazed at the faith that these kids around me have. I say, "KUDOS FOR THEM!!!!!!!". At this point, I have to pat myself on the back, I'm sorry. I am so proud to have picked such a wonderful place, and to have surrounded myself with such a great, Christian atmosphere. Lately, I have wondered about whether or not I really am where I am supposed to be, BUT, if I am not where I am supposed to be, I definitely think that Campbell is the runner-up.

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more...
Okay, so today is the 6th day of classes and in the past 7 hours we have had 2 tornado warnings for Buies Creek.
When we went to breakfast this morning it was sprinkling but it had been previously pouring so there were puddles everywhere. When I got out of class at 1pm there were no more puddles and the sun was shining high and bright. At 2:35-ish it started pouring again. and when I got out of class at 3pm, it was still raining cats and dogs. After about 10 minutes it let up a little and so I made a run for it, but my dorm was still being drenched in some of the heaviest rain I have ever seen, so I had to run into the rain to get to my room.
Needless to say, the weather can't make up it's mind and I was soaked when I got to my room!

Welcome Week!
So for our first week we attended some different activities and met some new people. I am excited because I already have a little group of friends that I eat meals with and just hang out with. Me, Donna Lynn and Adam (Donna Lynn's friend).
We went to the freshmen block party on Saturday after we moved in, and then we played cards. We have gone to the street fair, seen Prince Caspian on the big screen, gotten a couple free t-shirts, played bingo, WATCHED not played mud volleyball, met our professors, started classes and we went to a Black Violin concert:
Violins played to hip hop beats. It was amazing! Check them out! Black Violin (Their CD is cheaper on iTunes)

Freshmeat, literally...
Yea, so... I'm a freshman. Let's go ahead and get that out of the way... I'm a freshman, in college at least, thank God it's not high school, again. No offense to high school or anything, but I'm glad to say that I am officially out of the public school system. But, I feel like we're starting off on the wrong foot here. I love Campbell University... let's go ahead and get that out of the way too. Campbell is an awesome place, with a beautiful, rural campus in Buies Creek, NC, great professors, a diverse student body, potentially awesome people, fantastic food, and a spirituality that some churches could only dream of. I'm really excited about the opportunities this place holds for me. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me here. I know that the boundaries are endless, and there are so many directions I can go. I only hope that I make the right decisions, and if I make the wrong ones, I can only hope that I learn from my mistakes; after all, this is a learning period right? Speaking of learning and such, I also have some goals and things that I want to accomplish here:
1. to be a person who knows who she is, understands herself, is comfortable with herself, and has confidence to do whatever she sets her heart on;
2. to make lifelong friends, and to "be a friend a friend would like to have";
3. to grow spiritually, and to become more knowledgeable and aware in that sense;
4. to graduate with a degree that will allow me to do my little bit of good in this world;
5. to become a successful, self-sufficient, intelligent, independent, innovative, and productive member of society.

1. to be a person who knows who she is, understands herself, is comfortable with herself, and has confidence to do whatever she sets her heart on;
2. to make lifelong friends, and to "be a friend a friend would like to have";
3. to grow spiritually, and to become more knowledgeable and aware in that sense;
4. to graduate with a degree that will allow me to do my little bit of good in this world;
5. to become a successful, self-sufficient, intelligent, independent, innovative, and productive member of society.

The beginning of the rest of our lives!!
Hey everyone!!
My name is Julia and I am a freshman at college. I am attending Campbell U in small town Buies Creek, North Carolina. My major is Business Administration and I hope to end up with Event Planning as my career.
My goals this year are:
1. To make true friends
2. To stay connected to and grow closer to God
3. Keep a cheerful and positive attitude
4. To discover a new talent
5. To learn how to be more creative, keep an open mind to new ideas
Okay, so before I start telling you about my whole personal life, I better tell you what this whole blog is about.... my roommate, Donna Lynn, and I want to write down the experiences that we have in college. We are going to be blogging about anything and everything and hopefully most of it will be interesting.
We are determined to have fun, while not flunking college. So hold on tight and get ready for the ride that goes everywhere while staying in one small town in central North Carolina!
